Music for the Laundromat is written by me – Bianca Martin. Resident of Brisbane, Australia and self confessed music aficionado, I created Music for the Laundromat in January 2010 without any direction or expectation, but rather as a writing portfolio. MFTL has underground many transitions in its short lifespan, going from a free for all report-on-anything music site to a more localised blog on the Australian (and more specifically, Brisbane) music scene.
As for the name? No, it’s not about music that you specifically listen to while doing your laundry. But it’s about music that makes up your every day life.
I’ve previously written for Tsunami Magazine and Time Off Media, as well as brief stints at Collapse Board, Press Record Online and Life Music Media. I’ve enjoyed my time at each of these publications, and am always looking for new writing ventures but due to time restraints at the moment I’m just allowing MFTL to be my main focus.
If you have any questions or commends, don’t hesitate to contact me at musicforthelaundromat@gmail.com
I also welcome anyone to send through any music that you think I may enjoy. I cannot get around to all the music that I’m send, but I do my best!
